WHAT CAMERA SYSTEM SHOULD A COMPANY ADOPT - ANALOG CAMERA OR IP CAMERA?
- If you are cost conscious then analog security cameras may work out fine.
- Analog security system is ok but falls short on scalability and advance security features.
- Analog system is more suitable to small requirements or clients where there is no Internet connectivity.
- With analog system, scalability can be an issue because if more cameras are required in the future, more DVRs are needed.
- The drawback of the analog system is that the compression is done by the DVR, that is, the DVR digitizes the analog signal from a regular CCTV camera. This way, a remote user can monitor the activity through the DVR via Internet. A public IP is required for DVR.
- CCTV that uses analog cameras is a traditional technology and is well proven. However, with recent technological advances, many companies are moving or looking towards IP based Video Surveillance security solutions.
- If you want to leverage existing IT infrastructure, we recommend that you opt for IP Video Surveillance Solution.
- There will be more advanced solutions based on IP, so protect your investment switching to IP based security solutions.
