SMART AND SECURED WAY OF HANDLING DATA

i-Dfens Smart Card security applications is easy to deploy and integrate with other applications. i-Dfens has successfully implemented its smart card security applications at prestigious organisations, which have benefited immensely from operations and transparency point of view. We have done extensive work on the application and broken it into multiple components to integrate with other applications easily and quickly

Four Divisions has developed the Smart Card Security Application that can be integrated with other applications easily. The application has been broken down into multiple modules for easy integration with client’s applications.

Introduction to Smart Cards - A smart card, chip card, or integrated circuit card (ICC), is a pocket-sized card with embedded integrated circuits. Although there is a diverse range of security applications, there are two broad categories of ICC:
  • Memory cards contain only non-volatile memory storage components, and perhaps some specific security logic
  • Microprocessor cards contain memory and microprocessor components.

The standard perception of a "smart card" is a microprocessor card of credit card dimensions (or smaller, e.g. the GSM SIM card) with various tamper-resistant properties (e.g. a secure crypto-processor, secure file system, human-readable features) and is capable of providing security services (e.g. confidentiality of information in the memory).

Though the look and feel of the smart card is similar to that of a credit card, the internal structure of the smart card varies completely.

The move towards implementing smart card security technology in many applications like health, insurance, telecommunications, computer security systems, wireless communications, loyalty programs, satellite TV access and personal identification has indeed caught the momentum. In order to have easy access to information and data storage, few companies have already adopted the smart technology for identification at single or multi-location, cash-free transactions, secured access to computer applications, access to sensitive areas, etc.

Types of Smart Cards
Smart card security technology is generally divided into four categories:
  • Contact Smart Card
  • Contactless Smart Card (Mifare)
  • Dual-interface Card
  • Hybrid Card
